About Us

Empowerment Today was founded in 2007 by CEO and President Jessica Ann Johnson out of a desire to share the tools of financial wealth with everyone. Our mission is to empower low-income families seeking to enhance their financial literacy and health awareness through education. We will accomplish this mission effectively because of our program concept - participatory education and community partnership. We realize that we are only one piece of the puzzle. It takes all of us - volunteers, participants, host organizations, donors and Empowerment Today - to have a successful program that creates positive lasting change. Join us.

Jessica Johnson, Founder, CEO and President JJohnson@empowermentToday.org Jessica Johnson is a California native who obtained a BA from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from Cal Poly Pomona. She worked 7 years as a technology management consultant with Kerry Consulting Group and 10 years as a special agent with the United States Secret Service. Aniko Millan, Board Member Aniko Kannas-Millan, L.A. native and Santa Cruz faithful, enjoys ranch life in the Santa Cruz mountains with her 2 girls, 2 dogs, 1 barn cat, 3 horses and 1 husband. Park Ranger by day and pool parlor operator by night, Aniko is a true believer in REcreation. Her motto: Life is too short. . .love big, live large and play hard and often. Ginger Yerovsek, Board Member Ginger Yerovsek has an MBA and is an experienced sales and marketing executive. With over 10 years of experience in the retail industry and 10 years in the technology sector, she has launched both brands and products into the North American, Asian, and EMEA markets.
Jerry Bryant, Treasurer Jerry Bryant is a USC graduate and an associate with Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP in Los Angeles.
